Closing my Outlook  @live.com email account

trying to close/cancel my outlook email account ******@live.com

I go into my Microsoft account and select "close account" then have to enter my password, then it goes to a page that says I need to deactivate your Outlook.com or Hotmail account, which is what I'm trying to do, so I click OK which then says I must first cancel my billing service, which I don't even have. so I click the link which sends a code to my phone that I enter, then I enter my password again, then a page pops up that has nothing on it and no where to cancel or stop anything!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

How do I close my account for Outlook.com, Hotmail and other Microsoft services?

    Jon,

    A PS....FYI

    To take a different approach...

"Simply walking away from the account after removing any and all personal data is by far the easiest approach to take."
