    Hi jdavid_jd,

Thank you for posting your question in this community. If you received a community rely notification email about call “Microsoft support”, please do not call the number due to the privacy concerns, it is a spam. We have deleted the message and reported the spam user.

May I know if you can see the shared mailbox in your Outlook application interface? After your admin has added you as a member of a shared mailbox, close and then restart Outlook. The shared mailbox should automatically display in your Folder pane in Outlook. Reference for you: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/office/open-and-use-a-shared-mailbox-in-outlook-d94a8e9e-21f1-4240-808b-de9c9c088afd

If the shared mailbox is displaying in the Outlook interface, but you cannot access. May I know what the specific situation you have? You cannot expand it or is there any error message displayed when you try to access it? it will be great to provide more related screenshots/description for us to assist us picture this issue better.

Besides, I suggest you check if you can access the shared mailbox via the Outlook on the web. Sign in to your account in Outlook on the web (https://outlook.office365.com ) > On the Outlook on the web navigation bar, click your name. A list appears > Click Open another mailbox > Type the email address of the other mailbox that you want to open, and then click Open. Another Outlook on the web session opens in a separate window, allowing access to the other mailbox.

Welcome back to us if there are any updates.

    Thanks,

    Linda

    Hi jdavid_jd,

Thanks for your clarification. We suggest you try the following things:

    1. Connect to different network in-home or at your company.
    2. Using different browser and trying to open it in private mode.
    3. Switch back and wait for some time and try it again.

If you have tried multiple times and still cannot access, we suggest you could add the shared mailbox at outlook client:

    1.    Open Outlook.

    2.    Choose the File tab in the ribbon.

    3.    Choose Account Settings, then select Account Settings from the menu.

    4.    Select the Email tab.

    5.    Make sure the correct account is highlighted, then choose Change.

    6.    ChooseMore Settings > Advanced > Add.

    7.    Type the shared email address, such as ******@contoso.com.

    8.    Choose OK > OK.

    9.    Choose NextFinish > Close.

If issue persists, you might contact your admin to ensure you have grant certain permission for this mailbox or make sure this mailbox user has valid license. If so, I suggest you ask the admin to remove you and then add you back to the shared mailbox member list.

    Thanks,

    Linda

I ran into this problem too.

In order to open 2 different outlook accounts on the same browser in different tabs at the same time (which I think is what this broken button is supposed to do), I did the following:

    • Open email A in a tab like normal.
    • Open the Outlook desktop client for Windows 10
    • Have both email A and email B added to the desktop client (click File > Info > Account Information > Add Account)
    • In the client, from File > Info, where the top says Account Information, have account B (the one you don't have open in a tab in your browser) selected.  Then under account settings just below, click the URL under "Access this account on the web"

This will open the second account in its own tab, while still preserving the first; you can click back and forth and open emails in each without it logging you out.  You can close the desktop client if you'd like.
