I have a document that always comes up the the Spanish (ES) keyboard activated.

I click on the keyboard, change it to English.  Save the document.  Load it again and it is Spanish.

I go to Review tab, set language to English.  Save. Load again and it is Spanish.

What can I do??

Are you selecting all of the text in the document when you change the language to English.  Have you unchecked the "Detect language automatically" box in the Review>Set Language>Language dialog?

Note, the keyboard language is set via the WIndows Control Panel, not in Word.

To add to what Doug told you, the language setting in Word is a format applied to text. It has nothing to do with the keyboard. You need to select all the text in the document and change that setting for that text. Selecting should be done with Ctrl-A rather than with the mouse. You may have to do the same with each header and footer and textbox as well.

Thank you.  I had to select by going to Home>Select>Select All

    Then Review>Set Language>English.

I would note that the keyboard setting changed without my touching anything else when I changed the language.
