Change Modified Date setting

When I upload a new file into SharePoint, the Modified Date column does not show the year, only date and month. How do I change the setting to always show the year? For ex: January 6, 2017.

    Hi MK_570,

If we add the Modified column with the standard time in the library view, it display as below:

Therefore, please try the following steps and see if the issue can be fixed:

    1. If the library opens in Modern UI, we can click Return to classic SharePoint at the bottom right corner to access it in classic team site.
    2. Click LIBRARY > Library Settings > Columns > Modified.
    3. In Edit Column page, set Display Format to Standard.
    4. Click OK.

If it already has been Standard, please change to Friendly and click OK. Then refresh the library page and then change back to Standard.

If the issue persists, could you confirm the following details?

    1. Could you share with us a screenshot about the Modified column without the year?
    2. Does the issue only occur on the new file or all files?

    Regards,

    Shirley

    Hi MK,

Could you share with the following details so that we can move forward?

    1. Have you tried changing Display Format to Standard via LIBRARY > Library settings > Columns > Modified? If so, please share with the result and a screenshot.
    2. Does the issue occurs only this library or all libraries?

For the Web Designer Galleries, here is a screenshot. If you can’t find it in Site Settings page, please enable Custom Script via SharePoint admin center > Settings > Custom Script > Allow users to run custom script on personal sites/ Allow users to run custom script on self-service created sites. Note: changes to this settings might take up to 24 hours to take effect.

    Regards,

    Shirley

    Hi MK_570,

    Thanks for your update.

May I know if you tried the steps above? If not, could you follow them and let us know the result.

In addition, for the Modified column, please check it in Site columns page via Settings > Site settings > Web Designer Galleries > Site columns > Date Modified > Additional Column Settings > Date and Time Format: Date & Time > Display > Standard > Update Lists > Yes > OK.

If the issue persists, I would like to confirm if the issue only occur on this library or all libraries in this site collections.

    Regards,

    Shirley

Apologies for not providing details- I am in the SharePoint app and uploading files. I need to change the format of the  Modified column (2nd column) to include the year. Here is a screenshot of my current format:
