MS Project 2016

When I open MS Project, I get an error message. The only thing on it is the letter A. I click Okay and then I can get to the software. However, it won't let me print a pretty large Gantt chart I have (although I'm able to print a normal 8.5x11 one). It tells me there's not enough memory. Any ideas on how to fix this? Has anyone else ever had this happen?

    pattirat,

Did you also try the other methods? Sometimes using all three methods outlined in the article are needed.

Do you have any graphics associated with your file such as a logo? If so, try eliminating that.

Is this file part of a linked structure (e.g. master/subproject or resource pool/sharer)? Those are very susceptible to corruption.

Are you using a network or is the file on your local hard drive?

Does this only happen with that specific file or to all Project files? If this happens with any file you create then there is most likely an issue with Project itself. You could try a repair via the Control Panel.

I used the second method, and it seemed to help with that particular file initially, but after I closed down Project and then went back into it, I still have that "A" error message when I start up Project, and my "new" version of the file gets the same error message regarding printing.

    Pattirat,

Sounds like you have a corrupt project file.  I suggest you try one or more of the methods outlined in the following Wiki article to clear the corruption.

    https://social.technet.microsoft.com/wiki/contents/articles/32054.ms-project-clearing-file-corruption-andor-bloat.aspx

Let us know if that helps.

Someone suggested I show my error message, so here it is. This is what comes up when I open MS Project:

After I click OK, I get a normal screen to open my recent projects. Then when I try to print my really huge Gantt chart (which I have printed before), I get this error message:

All software and printers are updated to the most recent versions. I still need help with this issue.

Have you fully updated Project? If not do so.

Can you see the print in print preview? If yes, then the problem is likely an out of date printer driver or even video driver? Make sure Windows, Project and all drivers are up to date.
