Hi Therese,
Thanks for posting in our forum.
Based on your description and the thread you mentioned about, it seems like when you open a document in a mobile app with the inserted link about a document saved in a SharePoint site, it is not available to open this link and an error says you are unable to open the link. May I know if my understanding is right?
If so, kindly check about my test steps below and see if they are same as your steps to encounter the issue.
1.Click the copy link button with a file saved in a document library in a SharePoint site
2.Open a Word or Excel document and paste the link(I pasted the link in a Word file and saved it in my OneDrive)
3.Open OneDrive for mobile and open the Word file, then click the inserted link
4.It automatically turned to the browser in my phone and a web page to sign in with my Microsoft account
5.I signed in the correct account and it automatically opened the file saved in the SharePoint site
It seems like the issue is the link will be changed in the step2 and unable to open in step3 since you mentioned 'the link url changes after the document is saved'. If so, could you please share more details about the issue to narrow down the issue?
1.What application are you using to save the document with the inserted link? Is it a Word for desktop or Word for online? We can do a test if you tell us the exact application when you encountered the issue.
2.Also, kindly do a test following above steps to see if the same issue will happen when you use other applications to insert the SharePoint link to a document like Word, Excel or PowerPoint(even the online version in www.office.com)
3.Any screenshots or videos would be great for us to have a further check with this issue. You can send me the video in the Private Message: Private Messages - Microsoft Community
Thanks for your patience and effort on this issue and we will try our best to find the cause and fix it.
Best Regards,
Mia
