Excel for Beginners

Please help - it's important to note I'm computer illiterate so bear with me!  I've was fortunate enough for many yrs to have my own admin. However, I lost my lucrative job several month's ago and am now faced with positions that require Excel, Powerpoint, etc.  I'm mostly concerned with Excel.

While I can insert a row, colum and color-code cells, I know nothing else.  I'm a face-to-face learner but Covid hasn't helped with onsite classes, forcing online training.  I've looked at YouTube videos which end up being sales pitches.  Microsoft advised contacting the forum for guidance.

My computer was loaded with the 2019 version (?) but according to Tech Support, I'm OK with that and need not purchase a new version right now.

I need to start somewhere basic.  I found courses on several sites but don't know who to trust or where to start.  I need guidance on a reputable site and which courses to begin with (what order) and it would certainly look good to eventually put a certification on my resume.

I appreciate any help you can provide.  I never thought I'd be in this position.

Sincerely,

Barbie

Thanks very much.  However, there are many Excel classes and the titles confuse me.

I need to insure I am going in an exact order.

Videos are OK, but I like a "classroom" setting.

I also would like to be certified which costs $$.  If it means something I'll pay for it.

Sorry for bothering you.  I'm receiving advice rom friends, recruiters, Microsoft, etc and every one is different.

    Thanks again!

    Hi, Barbie!

I'm an independent advisor and I will try to help you.

I advise you to start with basic formulas, "Sum", "subtraction," multiplication "and" If ", then learn the VLOOKUP and PROCH formulas, this will help you a lot. Over time it may be interesting to learn about the" pivot table, macros and VBA.

In the link below you will find some classes provided by Microsoft itself.

    https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/office/exce...

If you prefer something more targeted, I advise you to purchase an Excel course at Udemy (www.udemy.com). It is a reliable website. Upon entering the site you will notice that there are some courses. Start with some basic or go from basic to advanced.

You can also find classes on YouTube if you want to learn something specific.

    All best!

Although udemy is a site with a high degree of reliability, I recommend that you see the evaluation and description of the courses, as we are not responsible for anything related to the site, since it does not belong to Microsoft.
