Text Gradient

When I add a text gradient, the gradient starts over when a new line begins on the left side of the page.

ie.

100% Black 90% Gray 80% Gray 70% Gray

100% Black 90% Gray 80% Gray 70% Gray

I would like to make it so the gradient is continuous throughout my selected text.

ie.

100% Black 90% Gray 80% Gray 70% Gray

60% Gray 50% Gray 40% Gray etc.

Is this possible?

    No, the gradient is always applied line by line.
