Geography Data

I never requested this... but could anybody tell me how to turn off the Geography data feature in Excel?

It is messing up with my inputted data.

Try this

Select cells with Data type > right click > Data Type > Convert to Text

    Hi Jen,

    I did as you instructed and the Geography (as well as Stocks) are not there in the Customize Ribbon tab anymore... that was a good sign...

    But, the Geography icon was still there besides the country names... I decided to re-type the country name to see if it will remove the Geography icon and it re-appears as soon as I finish typing the country name.

    Sigh... please let me know what else I have to do...

    I'm Jen, an independent advisor and a Microsoft user like you. I'd be happy to help you out with this issue.

    Kindly try the following steps:

    Open the Excel application > Click File > Options > Customize Ribbon > Under Customize the Ribbon, select the Main Tabs > Click on + symbol beside the Data > select Data Types and click Remove > click OK to apply. Restart excel. Let me know if this works.
