OneNote for Windows 10: Math Equation Function doesn't support Subscript or Superscript Hotkeys

Hello Everyone,

my problem is, that i want to write math equations in Windows10 OneNote for University. I don't have the time and also really don't want to take the efforts of selecting an index template from the equation menu every time I need one (which is a lot). So I looked up the Hotkeys: ALT+"=" on a standard QWERTY keyboard (which I don't have, but ALT+"+" works fine on QWERTZ)... The problem is, this only works in normal writing mode and never in those fancy math equations!

I find it hard to believe that this is meant like that and I hope it will be fixed or that i just didn't find the proper setting to change yet.

Thanks in advance

Greetings from Germany

Max

Hi MaxBobek,

Thank you for posting in this community and I am sorry for this inconvenience caused to you.

May I know have you tried to use CTRL+ “= “ or **CTRL+ Shift + “=”**in Math Assistant in OneNote?

For your information: Solve math equations with Math Assistant in OneNote (microsoft.com)

Moreover, you may try to use OneNote 2016 to see the results.

Best Regards,

May

I don't know if this helps but I use "_" to subscript. The Math equation will subscript it for you.
