Caption Font

Hi again all,

This is probably something very basic and asy to fix but I need help. I have started a second document and tried to add my first picture to it. I can do this easily enough but when I click on the add caption icon on the Word 2019 ribbon the dialog box appears with the caption font in italics, even though the main body text is correctly presenting in my selected type face which is Old Roman I believe. This is strange because in my other document, also done on the same laptop with the same Word 2019 program set with the same main body text, the caption text is shown in standard font in bold face. Is there a way to change the caption font? I have looked at the dialog box and don't see a tab or clickable option to do this. Any help would be appreciated. Thank you.

Put the selection in the text of a caption and press CTRL+SHIFT+s which will display the Apply Style dialog, populated with the Caption style. Then click on the Modify button in that dialog

and make the desired modifications to the Style. If you want those modifications to be used for all documents, select the radio button for New documents based on this template before clicking on OK in the Modify Style dialog

    Hello WayneHinton1,

Thank you for coming to the Microsoft Support Community.

Look at the link below it has a guide on how to modify caption font.
    https://support.office.com/article/82fa82a4-f0f3-438f-a422-34bb5cef9c81

In my case, all I do is highlight the caption and it gives me the option to change the text format, remove italics and change font.

Or also in my case, I right-click on the caption (after i highlight it) and click on Font to make changes to it.

    Best Regards
    Fuad
