Hi, please check the following possible solutions.

    1. Oh okay, for Chromebook, you use Excel Web Version. I have looked but couldn't find a way to put a password on an Excel file either via Excel for iOS or Excel for Web - Unfortunately I don't have an Android phone so couldn't check that.

Please check out this post as well --> https://techcommunity.microsoft.com/t5/excel/password-protect-excel-file-on-android/m-p/1264127

However, a possible solution can be - if you create a couple blank Excel files on a computer using the Excel app and password protect them with different passwords, you can then duplicate those files whenever you want to create a new password protected file. Both Excel Web Version and Excel for iPhone allow to open password protected files and I am pretty sure that Android would too.

    2. There isn't a way to save the Excel file to an external storage on Excel Web Version but Excel for Android does. Please check out this link: https://support.microsoft.com/help/4c584089-1909-4bb1-91f3-8709c705be48

    Kind regards, Amit

    Hi,

I am a Microsoft products customer as well and will try to help.

    1. Yes, I understand the need to password protect an excel file. Here are the steps to do it:

    Windows:

    • Please select File > Info > Protect Workbook > Encrypt with Password
    • Enter a password and select Ok
    • Reenter Password and select Ok

Here is a video for it: https://support.microsoft.com/help/7359d4ae-7213-4ac2-b058-f75e9311b599

    Mac OS:

    • Review tab > Protect Workbook > Enter password > Verify password > Ok

To save a file to SD Card:

Windows: File > Save As > Browse > Select the SD Card > Enter File Name > click Save

Mac OS: File > Save As > On My Mac > click on 'down arrow' on the far right of 'Where' to expand the dialog box > select the SD Card on the far left > select the appropriate folder (if any) > click Save

Let us know if you have further questions.

    Kind regards, Amit
