I am finding iPhone losing Web protection setting of Microsoft defender. I have to turn it back on.

Does it have anything to do with reset network setting of iPhone?

How to maintain setting?

    Hello, Sunny PA Wong

    Welcome to Microsoft Community.

It can be frustrating when settings don’t stay as you want them. Here are a few potential reasons and solutions for why Microsoft Defender’s Web Protection setting might keep turning off on your iPhone:

    • Microsoft Defender for Endpoint on iOS uses a local VPN to provide web protection. If the VPN configuration is reset or disabled, it can cause the web protection to turn off. For references, kindly check them here: Configure Microsoft Defender for Endpoint on iOS features - Microsoft Defender for Endpoint | Microsoft Learn
    • Resetting your iPhone's network settings can impact the VPN and, as a result, the web protection settings. If you have reset your network settings recently, it may be necessary to reconfigure the VPN settings for Microsoft Defender.

Here are some steps to re-configure your VPN on your Microsoft Defender:

1-> Go to Settings - Search VPN & Device Management - Find if there is a VPN setting for Microsoft Defender - If there is, please try to delete VPN - as shown in the picture:

2-> Then re-download Microsoft Defender - follow the instructions to reopen the MS Defender application. Agree that "MS Defender" wants to add VPN settings - click Allow.

Additionally, if your network experiences changes, such as switching to airplane mode, or if there are interruptions in Wi-Fi and data traffic, or if your phone is in low-power mode, or if you have restarted your iPhone, these factors may cause Web Protection to temporarily lose connection. In such instances, you may need to reconnect or reactivate it.

Please let us know if anything is unclear, thank you ;)
