Hi everione:

I have a VM with Windows Server 2019 standard. When I use the search engine of the start menu, the files do not appear, only the installed programs. The Windows Search service is running, but i can't add C drive to the index. Any solution?

Thanks

    Hi,
The Windows Search service is running, but i can't add C drive to the index.

1.Is there any error message when you failed to ad C drive to index? Were you using Admin account?
Kindly check the status message and relevant suggestions:

    Hi:

I don't have any error, because the C drive doesn't appear, only A: (floppy) and Internet Explorer. i'm using domain users, and drive C doesn't appear to the admin user either.

for more information, i'm using a VM in hyper-v.

    thanks

    Hi:

Yes. The security permissions is correct.

Do I need to install any special role for windows search?

    Thanks
