Hi

Add-ins are usually one of two different kinds:

  • PowerPoint add-in that is a file
  • An add-in that is obtained from the Office marketplace.

Usually the place to get help with a plug-in is to contact the maker of the plug in.

    Dear Sabeena Ghazi,

    Welcome to Microsoft Community.

We understand that you cannot install the PowerPoint plugin on Mac.

    Need to confirm with you:

    • What version are you using on your Mac? Microsoft 365 Personal or other? You can click PowerPoint-About "Microsoft PowerPoint" in MAC to confirm the version information.
    • What is the specific name of the plug-in you need to download? How did you get the plug-in? On the Microsoft official website or other channels?
    • Is there an error or prompt message when you cannot install the plug-in?

If possible, you can share more information and screenshots with us so that we can help you further confirm.

At the same time, you can also refer to Jim_ Gordon's suggestions to help confirm the way to obtain the plug-in and contact the corresponding developer to confirm whether the Office version and system support downloading and installing the plug-in.

At the same time, you can try to confirm whether the firewall or other security software is turned on in the system. Due to the particularity of the Mac system, there may be problems with the plug-in being unable to be installed on the Mac system or being blocked by security software.

Can you temporarily disable the security software and try to install the program again to see if it works?

We also look forward to you sharing more information about the PowerPoint plug-in with us to further confirm the installation problem.

    Best Regards,

Zenobia.Z | Microsoft Community Support Specialist
