OneDrive syncing

OneDrive is driving me nuts. I do not want it to download anything from my laptop to my phone because I then have to delete dozens of images a day from my phone. I only want it to upload things from my phone to my laptop. I've tried to find out how to do that with no success. Under general account settings I do not have sync or camera upload options. I have is sync offline files and camera backup. Neither seems relevant.

    Hello DonaldLoux,

Welcome to the Microsoft community, it looks like the backup of OneDrive on your laptop caused you some inconvenience by syncing some files that you didn't want to sync, I understand how you feel.

I would recommend that you check the OneDrive sync options again to make sure that all backups have been turned off properly.

Open OneDrive settings (select the OneDrive cloud icon in your notification area, and then select the OneDrive Help & Settings icon  then Settings.)

    1. Open OneDrive settings (select the OneDrive cloud icon in your notification area, and then select the OneDrive Help & Settings icon  then Settings.)
    2. Go to the Sync and backup tab.
    3. Select Manage backup.

To end backing up a folder, toggle any folder that says backed up, and then select Save changes

Then in the “Sync & Backup” section, below “Manage Backups”, make sure the “Save screenshots to OneDrive” section is unchecked.

You can refer to Back up your folders with OneDrive - Microsoft Support

Once you've saved your settings, OneDrive should have turned off all automatic synchronization, so feel free to share any results or ask any questions.

    Best regards,
