Hello, This question is a request. It is regarding Microsoft VOLT tool which is a typography tool. Can you please make the source code of this tool open to the public? It is quiet an old tool and Microsoft has stopped supporting it. If Microsoft is not willing to share the source code then can you please rebuild it in 64 bit? There is a new Arabic code page that has code range in U+10000 range and this tool is not able to handle it. I couldn't find an appropriate category for this question therefore if you want to move this question in a more appropriate category then please do so. Thanks

I must be transparent that, as a volunteer advisor in this forum, we do not have the authority to make decisions regarding the open-sourcing of legacy tools or the allocation of resources for their rebuild. These types of decisions are made by the respective product teams based on broader business strategy, user demand, and technical feasibility.

However, to ensure your voice is heard by the correct decision-makers, I strongly encourage you to formally submit this request through the official Microsoft Developer Feedback channels. The most direct way to influence the product roadmap is to post your suggestion on the Developer Community forum. You can search for "Font Tools" or "VOLT" and add your request there, or create a new post. This platform is actively monitored by our product groups, and having the request there allows other developers to upvote it, which significantly increases its visibility and priority.
