Sharepoint list view web part error after upgrade

hi we upgraded to 2016 from sp 2010. our pages have list view webparts with XSL files linked to them.

we receive error on all list view pages and ULS has the below error. any idea what needs to be added to fix ..

any help is appreciated.

sharepoint 2016 Error while executing web part: System.Xml.Xsl.XslLoadException: XSLT compile error. An error occurred at (0,0). ---> System.Xml.XmlException: DTD is prohibited in this XML document

From the error message, looks like the web part failed to load the linked XSL files. You could try to remove this xls file link by editing the web part, check if it work for you.

Also, there might be so many reasons that the migrated content won't work as expected from SharePoint 2010 to SharePoint 2016 because there are so many features which got deprecated from 2010 to 2016. The best way is to delete these issued web parts, then re-add them in SharePoint 2016.

i removed xsl file link and i still get the error. could you see the code below an say if its supported in 2016 or not. thanks in advance.

The code looks fine, and seems that you added data view web part using the list as data source in your page. It is hard to find the reason for the issue.

As I said, you'd better rebuild your web part in SharePoint 2016. Besides, you could use XsltListViewWebPart directly instead of DataFormWebPart for the list.
