I have a Asus laptop.

It came with windows 11 preinstalled.

I had some problems and did a system recovery of windows 11.

Two days later there was a message that I hadn't activated windows.

I tried to activate windows using setting>system>activation but got the following message:

"We can't activate Windows on this device because you don't have a valid digital licence or product key. If you think you have a valid licence or key, select troubleshoot below. Error code 0xC004F012"

Then I click trouble shoot and get this message

"something interrupted our troubleshooting. Make sure you're connect to the internet, wait a few minutes and try again. (0xc0000022)"

What can I do to activate my windows?

I am glad it has been resolved. Essentially the repair install would fix the issue too (see reference thread: https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/answers/questions/3853619/w11-activation-issues-many-issues ) but what you referenced could work too, but a bit advanced so it is not something I would just recommend for any user.

    Thank you for the screenshot.

I think all you need to do is a repair install, that should address the issue. This is not a reset, so your files and apps are all safe.

To perform a repair installation of Windows 11 using the Windows Media Creation Tool:

The following steps should be done on a working Windows computer:

Download the Windows Media Creation Tool from Microsoft's official website. https://www.microsoft.com/software-download/windows11 click on the "download now" button under "Create Windows 11 Installation Media"

Run the tool and select "Create installation media for another PC."

Choose "USB flash drive" as the media to use for the installation and select "Next."

Connect a USB flash drive with at least 8 GB of free space to your computer.

Select the USB flash drive you want to use, and then select "Next."

The tool will then download the required files and create the installation media.

    =====================================================

Now these steps will  be done on your problematic computer:

Go to the USB drive via File Explorer, locate and run the Setup.exe file. Ideally, you should disconnect all USB and Bluetooth devices other than mouse and keyboard. Disable any 3rd party antivirus program. Disconnect the internet.

Once you run the Setup.exe file, choose the Install option, and the choose the option that keeps your files and apps.
