Microsoft Planner is included with all three Microsoft 365 Business plans—Basic, Standard, and Premium—but the available features and integrations differ based on the plan's app access and licensing tier:

  • Business Basic: Planner is available only via the web (no desktop integration). Users can create and manage plans, assign tasks, attach files from SharePoint or OneDrive, and collaborate through Teams integration. However, there is no Microsoft Project integration, limited Power Automate functionality, and no advanced reporting through Power BI or Excel. • Business Standard: Includes all Basic capabilities, plus deeper Teams and Outlook integration and enhanced automation options. Users can sync Planner tasks with To Do and Loop components, and benefit from broader Power Automate connectors. The inclusion of desktop apps like Outlook and Teams also enables richer Planner notifications and meeting-based task management. • Business Premium: Offers the same Planner experience as Standard but enhanced by Microsoft Defender for Business and Intune for secure access and data protection. While Planner itself does not gain exclusive Premium-only features, users benefit from conditional access, data loss prevention, and compliance controls that protect Planner data. Integration with Microsoft Loop and Microsoft Project (via separate license) is supported. More at https://learn.microsoft.com/microsoft-365/business-premium/overview
