Hi Diana Cheptea,
To make the taskbar smaller in Windows 11, you’ll need to adjust its size via the Registry Editor, as there’s no built-in slider for this in Settings.
Here’s how to do that:
Resize the Taskbar Using Registry Editor
- Open Registry Editor
- Press Windows + R, type
regedit, and hit Enter. - If prompted by User Account Control, click Yes.
- Press Windows + R, type
- Navigate to the Advanced Key
- Go to:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\Advanced
- Go to:
- Create a New DWORD Value
- Right-click on the right pane, choose New > DWORD (32-bit) Value.
- Name it:
TaskbarSi
- Set the Value for Taskbar Size
- Double-click
TaskbarSiand set the value to one of the following: -
0= Small -
1= Medium (default) -
2= Large - Click OK.
- Double-click
- Restart Explorer to Apply Changes
- Press Ctrl + Shift + Esc to open Task Manager.
- Find Windows Explorer, right-click it, and choose Restart.
I hope you find this instruction useful to some extent. If you're satisfied with that, it's appreciated to accept the answer as a way to share your experience with the community. Thank you :)
