If you're experiencing issues with Windows 10 updates where the update appears to download and install but then prompts you to update again after a restart, there are several steps you can take to troubleshoot this problem:

    1. Check Update History: Look for any error messages in your update history. You can do this by going to Settings > Update & Security > Windows Update > View update history. This may provide insight into why the updates are failing.
    2. Reinstall Updates: If you see that a specific update has failed, try to reinstall it. Sometimes updates do not install correctly the first time.
    3. Run Windows Update Troubleshooter: Use the built-in troubleshooter for Windows Update. Go to Settings > Update & Security > Troubleshoot > Additional troubleshooters > Windows Update, and run the troubleshooter.
    4. Check for Prerequisite Updates: Ensure that all prerequisite updates have been installed. Some updates depend on previous ones being installed first.
    5. Free Up Disk Space: Ensure that you have enough disk space on your system drive, as insufficient space can prevent updates from completing.
    6. Reset Windows Update Components: If the problem persists, you may need to reset the Windows Update components. This can be done via command prompt commands that stop the Windows Update services, rename the SoftwareDistribution and catroot2 folders, and then restart the services.
    7. Contact Microsoft Support: If none of the above steps work, consider reaching out to Microsoft Support for further assistance.

By following these steps, you should be able to resolve the issue with Windows 10 updates not completing successfully.
