My microsoft edge bing started having issues few weeks ago. Whenever I click to open it, it will direct me to chrome. Then, when I finished the update I could open it fine last time. But now no matter what I do, I cannot open it. I had all my bookmarks saved there, and I cannot access to that either. What should I do?

Hi there! Thanks for reaching out. A reliable fix is to repair it through Settings, Apps, Installed apps, select the browser, choose Modify, then Repair. This keeps your data and replaces broken files. If it still opens Chrome, set your default browser again in Settings, Apps, Default apps. Signing in with your account also restores your bookmarks if they were synced.
I tried both, and they won't work.. I checked on another computer and could find all the synced information. Thank you, but I only have one laptop and am not thinking about replacing it for now.
Also, when windows update happens, it some how removes all the chrome cashes (bookmarks, history, etc). I unfortunately didn't sync the chrome account for a certain reason and lost them all, which weren't saved to local as well. Anyways, I want to know why this is happening or how to prevent it.
Next, I have an extension that I couldn't remove when I was using Bing. Probably, after that extension was installed (one day that I cannot recognize), the search engine of Bing would work in a very strange way.
I'm sorry I cannot explain better. This extension also followed to chrome when I synced with the same gmail I guess? -->> So, I unsynced and logged out, which worked for Chrome (to get rid of that extension). However, when I resynced, the extension didn't come back so I'm not even sure about the revelations..
Unfortunately I don't have the error code related to the searching issue because I cannot open Bing anymore..
