Hello Keith, Lawrence,
The error code 80180014 is specific to Windows Autopilot / MDM enrollment scenarios. It indicates that the device is attempting to enroll into Intune or Azure AD but the current configuration or licensing does not support the requested feature. Since you replaced the motherboard and reinstalled Windows 11, the hardware hash that Microsoft uses for Autopilot and MDM enrollment has changed. As a result, the device is no longer recognized as the same trusted endpoint, and enrollment fails with this error.
The supported resolution is to regenerate and re‑import the hardware hash for the device into your tenant. You can do this by running the PowerShell script Get-WindowsAutopilotInfo.ps1 on the rebuilt machine, which outputs the new hardware hash. That CSV must then be uploaded into the Intune portal under Devices > Windows > Windows enrollment > Devices (Windows Autopilot). Once the new hash is registered, the device will be able to complete Autopilot enrollment without throwing 80180014.
If you are not using Autopilot but still see this error, it means the device is trying to join Azure AD with MDM enrollment enabled, but the license assigned to the user does not include Intune or the enrollment restrictions are blocking it. In that case, check Azure AD > Mobility (MDM and MAM) and confirm that Intune is properly configured for the tenant, and that the user has an Intune license assigned.
I hope you've found something useful here. If it helps you get more insight into the issue, it's appreciated to accept the answer. Should you have more questions, feel free to leave a message. Have a nice day!
