Hey there! Nice to meet you!

Based on your description, you may try following the guide on the official Microsoft website to investigate and locate the charge from Microsoft on this link:

    https://support.microsoft.com/account-billing/how-to-investigate-a-billing-charge-from-microsoft-398c5328-364c-d5e4-ea8f-f5ad60562a93

If you're able to find the transaction and if this is an unwanted/forgotten subscription renewal, you can check if it is eligible for a refund through this link:

    https://support.microsoft.com/account-billing/how-to-get-a-refund-on-a-microsoft-subscription-67dca30b-b323-44d5-acc2-e02f9902c472

You may also try contacting Microsoft Support for further assistance in tracking the transaction:

    https://support.microsoft.com/home/contact?SourceApp=smc2&ContactUsExperienceEntryPointAssetId=S.HP.SmcContactUsLanding

Type "Billing Issue" > click "Get Help" > Scroll down to Sign in to Contact Support > Microsoft 365 and Office > Billing and Payment Updates > Confirm > Chat with a support agent in your web browser

If you and the Support Team are unable to find the transaction in all of your accounts, you'll need to contact your financial institution/bank directly to dispute it, and they may process a refund, as this would be considered a fraudulent charge.

You may also need to have your card blocked and request a new one.

Thank you for your understanding! Please let me know if you need anything else.

    Best regards,

    Darhyl

To resolve an unauthorized Microsoft 365/Office-related charge, follow these steps:

    1. Investigate the charge on the Microsoft account
      • Go to the Manage your payments page of the Microsoft account dashboard and select “Investigate” for the unrecognized charge. This helps identify whether it is tied to a subscription, app, game, or in-app purchase.
      • Guidance: How to investigate a billing charge from Microsoft (accessed via the article below).
    2. Check for accidental or unauthorized purchases and request a refund
      • If the charge is an accidental or unauthorized purchase on the account, follow the refund process described in “Get a refund for apps and games purchased from Microsoft Store” or “How to get a refund on a Microsoft subscription” (linked from the articles below).
      • For Microsoft Store digital goods (apps, games, add-ons, subscriptions), refund eligibility is limited; see the Microsoft Terms of Sale from the refund article.
    3. If the charge is for a Microsoft Store app/game or subscription
      • Use the refund request flow described in “Get a refund for apps and games purchased from Microsoft Store”.
      • If it is a subscription with recurring billing, cancel or manage it from the Microsoft account subscriptions page, then request a refund if eligible.
    4. If the charge appears fraudulent or the account may be compromised
      • If there is any suspicion that someone else used the Microsoft account or payment method:
        • Follow the steps in “How to recover a hacked or compromised Microsoft account”.
        • Review “How to help keep your Microsoft account secure” to update password, security info, and sign‑in methods.
    5. If the charge cannot be identified or resolved through the Microsoft account
      • If the charge cannot be matched to any order or subscription after using the Manage your payments → Investigate flow, contact Microsoft Support/Microsoft Store Support using the contact paths in the referenced articles and provide:
        • The date and amount of the charge (e.g., 03/10/2026, $108.24).
        • The last 4 digits of the card and any descriptor text from the bank statement.
      • If Microsoft Support cannot locate the transaction or confirms it is not associated with the account, contact the bank or card issuer to dispute the charge as unauthorized. This may result in a chargeback (transaction reversal) initiated by the financial institution.
    6. Important note on chargebacks
      • A chargeback occurs when the bank or card provider reverses a payment that is disputed as unauthorized. Repeated misuse or abuse of chargebacks can be considered fraud, so they should be used when the charge is genuinely unauthorized and cannot be resolved directly with Microsoft.

These steps together cover: identifying what the charge is for, canceling any related subscription or purchase, requesting a refund from Microsoft when eligible, securing the account if compromised, and working with the bank if the payment is truly unauthorized.
