File Explorer "Copy Link" option missing

Just installed the latest update for windows 11, and now, in file explorer, the "copy link" option is no longer there.

In Windows 11 File Explorer, the sharing options depend on what is being shared and which service is in use.

For OneDrive content, use the OneDrive sharing flow instead of looking for a generic "Copy link" entry on the File Explorer context menu:

1. In File Explorer, go to the OneDrive folder and select the file or folder.
2. Select Share on the ribbon, or right‑click the item and select Share.
3. In the OneDrive sharing dialog:
   • Choose who the link should work for, then select Apply.
   • Select Copy link to place the sharing link on the clipboard.

If the item is not in OneDrive, File Explorer’s built‑in options focus on sharing via apps, nearby devices, or email rather than a generic “Copy link”:

• Select the file, then select Share.
• Under (…) choose More apps to share via another app (for example, OneNote).
• To share over a network instead of via a link, use the network file sharing feature described in the File sharing over a network in Windows article.

If the goal is to generate a OneDrive link directly from File Explorer on Windows 10/11, another supported method is:

1. Right‑click a OneDrive file or folder in File Explorer.
2. Select Share a OneDrive link. This copies a sharing link to the clipboard. By default, these links allow editing; to change permissions, open the OneDrive sharing dialog and adjust link settings there.

For more advanced link permission control (Anyone, People in your organization, Specific people, etc.), manage sharing from OneDrive on the web:

1. Go to onedrive.com and sign in.
2. Select the item, choose Share, then Copy Link.
3. Use the link settings (Anyone, People in your organization, People with existing access, Specific people) to control access before copying the link.
