Authenticator app is not allowing me to throttle back on my cloud backup

Cloud backup I believe is broken because of an update. They should fix this.

Microsoft Authenticator does not provide a granular “throttle back” or rate‑limit control for cloud (or iCloud) backup inside the app. Backup is essentially on or off, tied to the platform’s cloud service:

• On iOS, backup uses iCloud. You can only enable or disable iCloud backup for Authenticator in the app’s Settings under Backup. Any further control (such as when iCloud syncs) is handled by iOS/iCloud, not by Authenticator.
• On Android, backup uses Cloud Backup to a Microsoft personal account. In Settings → Backup, you can only toggle Cloud Backup on or off and choose the Microsoft account used for backup.

If the goal is to reduce or stop backup activity, the only supported options in Authenticator are:

1. Turn off backup entirely:
   • Open Microsoft Authenticator → Settings → under Backup, turn off iCloud backup (iOS) or Cloud Backup (Android).
2. Change the backup account (Android only):
   • Turn off Cloud Backup to delete the existing backup, then turn it back on and select Change account to use a different Microsoft personal account.

There is no supported setting in Authenticator to partially limit or slow down backup frequency beyond these on/off controls and what the underlying OS/cloud service manages.
