For live help, Microsoft provides human support options.
- For home users with Copilot license validation issues that still are not resolved, use contact Support for assistance.
- For Copilot Pro, Microsoft also provides a Contact Support option here: Contact us.
- If using Windows, run the built-in Copilot troubleshooters first in Get Help:
- Open Get Help.
- Search for Copilot License Troubleshooter if the Copilot icon is missing in eligible Microsoft 365 apps.
- Search for Copilot connectivity troubleshooter if Copilot is not connecting.
- If Copilot is missing in Microsoft 365 apps on Mac, refresh the license:
- Open any Microsoft 365 app.
- Select the app name menu at the top.
- Select About <app name> > More Info... > Refresh License.
- Close open documents and restart all Microsoft 365 apps.
- On Mac, also check privacy settings in Word under Word > Preferences > Privacy and make sure Experiences that analyze your content and All connected experiences are turned on. If Microsoft 365 is managed by an organization, these settings may be controlled by IT.
- On the web, refresh the browser page. If Copilot still does not validate the license, enable third-party cookies.
- If using a business account and the validation error continues after the documented steps, the Microsoft 365 admin should verify that Microsoft 365 Copilot is assigned and contact Microsoft support if needed.
