If the missing font is a Microsoft 365 cloud font, Word may restore it automatically after you sign in to Office and reopen the document. You can also try updating Office, closing Word fully, and then opening the file again so Word can download the cloud font.

For regular font files, the simple fix is to install the font again in Windows. Download or copy the correct .ttf or .otf file, right-click it, and choose Install. You can also place the font file in:

C:\Windows\Fonts

After installing it, restart Microsoft Word and check the font list again. If the document was created on another computer, also check whether the font was embedded in the Word file, because older Word versions may replace missing fonts with another similar font.

For anyone trying to identify a similar text look before replacing a missing font, checking different font styles can also help compare how the text may appear.

Segona Book is a cloud font. Cloud fonts automatically get installed to a non-standard location at C:\Users\YourActualUserName\AppData\local\Microsoft\FontCache\4\CloudFonts\, with each font in its own folder. There's nothing special you have to do to restore them, your copy of Office will do it for you automatically. AppData is a hidden folder.

Please note, cloud fonts will only have the correct appearance in Microsoft 365, Office 2019 and Office 2021. Earlier versions of Word will substitute a different font unless you embed the fonts in your document.

    Hi @Reginald Kee

    Welcome to Q&A forum ~

Could you please tell us which version of Office are you using now?
Re-installing the fonts would be the best way to restore fonts to Microsoft Word.

For Office on Windows system, MS Office fonts can be found in the Fonts folder. You can access that folder and paste your MS Office fonts (.ttf files) in that folder to recover fonts. This path is:
    C:\Windows\Fonts.

For Office for Mac, please refer to "Install and validate fonts in Font Book on Mac".
