Authenticator backup not working

I have a lot of authenticators. Just recently I have been unable to backup my accounts and I get the message "your backup is too large. Cannot save to the cloud". I have a Samsung device and I have cleared my personal OneDrive and also tried linking my Samsung account to OneDrive but neither of these has worked.
I am stuck and cannot afford to lose access to the authenticators. Does anyone know how to work around this issue? I have tried Microsoft support, both personal and MPN and neither group can help.
