MDT Unable to mount WIM

Hi everyone,

I've been working on a deployment share for work to mass image new desktops. I am running into this error here and haven't been able to fix it. I supposed it was something to deal with permissions as I can update the share (as a local admin, not on domain) compared to now (logged in as domain user, with local admin rights).

Let me know if there is anything else to try out, I've gone through everything.

    I got the same issue before. The solution for me is re-open MDT by right click Deployment Workbench (MDT) and Run as Administrator.

    Hi @AllenLiu-MSFT

    You are referring to Deployment Workbench in the start menu and right-clicking to run as an admin? If so, I just tried this and still popped the error.

    I have an account (clsadmin) and local admin (COMPUTER\Administrator) trying to update the share but they aren't able to. Once my domain admin remotes into the server and creates the share, then he can update it properly.

    Is there anything I can do to resolve it?

    Yes, we have to use a domain admin to create and use the deployment share, you may check the guidance:

    Hold your left shift key and right click your deployment work bench shortcut, select 'run as diffrent user' and enter the LOCAL administrator account name and use the correct password for the local administrator LOCAL account on your local computer!

    You can now generate a boot WIM.
