@Jasper Tan I would not recommend removing the lens or protective glass. The lens is glued into the barrel. You will also invalidate the warranty.

Hello, is it possible to remove the lens that comes with the Azure Kinect DK depth camera? How about to replace it with another one? Thanks!

Are you referring to the hardware failure scenario like broken or not working?
More about your use case would be helpful to understand the issue better.

I am working on a research project where we would like to experiment the effect of a lens modification on time-of-flight imaging.
We would like to remove the on-board lens and place our modified lens in front of the ToF sensor.Mounting our lens onto the Kinect board is not a requirement for us, but it would also be valuable to us if there are lens mounting options. Otherwise, we can have a floating setup where our lens is place in front of the sensor but not mounted on.
(By the way, we do not own the Kinect DK yet -- we wanted to check this capability before purchasing. Thanks!)
