Azure PG edit pg_ident.conf

I was wondering if it was possible to edit the pg_ident.conf file.
I am hoping that a mapping will resolve the issue our application is having with the @hostname.
I want to avoid changing the code.
I can currently connect to Google PostgreSQL without any issues (or changing code) as they do not use @hostname.
If the mapping for @hostname is supported, how does the pg_ident and pg_hba conf files look?

Thanks

Hi @Michelle Schwan - Are you using Azure Database for PostgreSQL or do you have PostgreSQL Server deployed to an Azure VM? If you are using the DB PaaS (Azure Database for PostgreSQL) you do not have access to the file system to edit these files. What are you attempting to accomplish?
