Testing UWP Purchases

Hello,

we offer Virtual Currency Purchases in our apps. These work well but QA needs to verify the purchase flow every time we want to release an update to our UWP apps.

I found posts from 2017 that it is not possible to add tester accounts that can make IAPs (meaning addon purchases) for free. Is that still true in 2020? It sounds a bit unbelievable that the only way to test inapp purchases on an app that is in production is to make the item free everyone for a given time. That means in the worst case real users will purchase infinite virtual currency packages for free in an online multiplayer economy where players can move currency between players.

Any way to test IAPs for free with test users like on other app stores?

Thanks

    Hello @Ruben ,

    Welcome to Microsoft Q&A!

There is no test APIs that could test the in-app purchase as free. Currently, you could your own account as the tester and you don't need to set the add-on as free. You could create a free add-on that is only available for private to test your code.

    Thank you.
