How to update existing apps on Windows and macOS devices via Intune?
There is a new feature for Windows, add new Apps from Store directly in Intune console. It is based on winget commands. Based on my experience, it is not 100% completed yet, but that is how it is/will be done with 3rd party apps.
You can also tweak your packages and allow them to pick updates automatically, but that depends on apps's own capabilities.
And you can also utilize native winget commands to push app updates with powershell scripting.

In Intune, some app types will be updated automatically. some needs update manually.

For example, win32 app for windows, we can choose to use Supersedence to update the app. Here is a link with more details for your reference:
