Hello Everyone,

We are working with a client to set up A cloud connect with a few 100 devices. The issue is they have a few Algo 8301 IP Paging Adapter & Scheduler. From everywhere i am reading the devices are supported in Microsoft Teams, but the company who are setting up the operator connect are saying its not supported. I am just trying to figure any reason why it won't work and has anyone every used an Algo device with teams and have you had any problems.

thanks

    Hi @stavros mitchell

From everywhere i am reading the devices are supported in Microsoft Teams, but the company who are setting up the operator connect are saying its not supported.

This device is not currently listed in Microsoft Teams device certified devices in the official documentation.

And I didn't find any information about this device in the Microsoft Teams admin center store. For a better experience, we recommend using a device that has been verified by Microsoft.

    Hi Stavros,

The ALGO 8301 devices ARE compatible with Microsoft Teams, but certain criteria must be met:

    • Algo IP Endpoint must be running Algo FW v5.3.4 or higher
    • A Microsoft Teams license must be available in the Teams Admin Center. Typically this would be a Shared Device License, although it may instead be associated with a full user license. Direct Inward Dialing (DID) must be associated with the license.
    • The Microsoft Teams production environment must support Algo devices – public preview is available in mid-April 2023, making this feature available to all.

    From ALGO's documentation (https://www.algosolutions.com/solutions/compatibility/msteams/)

I had to perform firmware updates to the ones I received (in June 2023).

There might be caveats implied by the Operator Connect provider, but these could be mitigate by simply buying a calling plan license and phone number from Microsoft.

ALGO's website has thorough documentation and walkthrough guides for setting the devices up in the Teams environment.
