Hello everyone,

I have a SQL Server 2016 server running on VMware. I will migrate to SQL Server 2019.

I read the types of licensing, but I had a doubt.

The server has 12 CORE, how many licenses will I need for this virtualized environment?

Thank you.

You need to license all 12 cores since SQL Server is running on Virtual OSE.

@Anonymous , Thanks for the feedback.

So as I understand it, I will need a license for each virtual Processor (Virtual-CORE).

My environment shows that I have 12 Virtual Core, in this case I will need 12 licenses according to the "SQL SERVER 2019 LICENSING DATASHEET" that you sent me, is that correct?
