Is Azure free first year

Question

I have just signed up a free account with Azure and use it for non production development purpose. I started with creating visual studio code which is an always free service. But it seems that I have to pay for the virtual machine sizes, and the service is not covered by credits (showing the fees /hour). May I know that for every service I create (eg. Javascript Development tool) I would also need to pay for additional virtual machine?

It's not really free for 1 year. Some resources can't be used after 1 month.

In first free trial Month also, you won't be able to use all the services as you want because there are some limits and in this case you will have to upgrade account to pay-as-you-go

Azure is free for one year with some credit amount (200$)
For every service you created you will be charged on time based. AND THAT FEE WILL BE DEDUCTED FROM YOUR FREE 200$ AMOUNT.
i For best practice you can assign service & Resources , run the instance , as soon your execution is complete , turn off the instance.
