Hello, I am trying to find a way to have a service on a Server 2019 Server use a mapped network printer (Set as default) when there are no logon sessions. The service is running under a domain account with permissions to the printer (mapped via a print server). The error thrown in the logs for the service is that printer does not exist, I believe because the printer loses its mapping when there are no logon sessions. I don't want to create a disconnected logon session just to solve this issue. Was wondering if anyone else has faced a similar situation and perhaps resolved it. TIA

    Hello,

We don't need a logon session if we want to use a shared printer. You can use this document as a reference

    https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/share-your-network-printer-c9a152b5-59f3-b6f3-c99f-f39e5bf664c3

If it doesn't work for you. You can consider use a printer server: https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/troubleshoot/windows-server/printing/install-configure-file-print-server
