Print job always completed but printer never prints.

Hi there,

so currently we have Universal print configured in Azure. I have a printer with which I want to test. It is a Ricoh IM C2000 with the app for Universal Print configured on the printer. I have registered the printer through the app in the Universal Print on Azure.

Now when I discover the printer on my device this works flawless but then when I want to print a test page the print job goes into the completed status very quickly without ever showing up on the printer itself.

Anyone have any ideas why this might be happening?

    Hello,

Here are a few things to consider:

    1. Update Printer Firmware:

Check if there are any firmware updates available for your Ricoh IM C2000 printer. Updating the printer firmware to the latest version can sometimes resolve compatibility issues.

    2.Check Print Queue Status:

Verify the print queue status in the Universal Print service. Make sure that the print job is not stuck in the queue or encountering any errors.

    3.Restart Printer and Device:

Try restarting both the Ricoh printer and the device from which you are trying to print. Sometimes, a simple restart can help resolve connectivity issues.

    4.Test with Different Document:

Try printing a different document or file to see if the issue is specific to a particular document or if it persists across all print jobs.

If your printer is UP Ready, which you say it is since you are using the app on the printer, and it says Completed in the UP Portal everything in the Azure/UP end seems to work.

Check the physical printer job and error log for a error message, this will be your best bet to finding out if there is some user authentication or possibly IP address filtering turned on in the printer settings.

If there is nothing at all in the physical printer log then I would try to re-register the printer from the app on the printer.
