After my phone broke and I logged into my Microsoft Authenticator App on a new phone, none of my previously added accounts were displayed. When I try to log in to websites, such as LinkedIn and Discord, they request the code from the Authenticator App, but the authenticator app is not displaying any codes. Before, on my old phone, the app used to show a list of all the website accounts I had added. How can I resolve this issue?

Even if I try to add them again manually to the app, the app asks for QR Code from the account provider, now how do I even provide the QR code without logging into those websites, and if I try to login into those websites, they ask for authenticator app code, and the app is showing nothing.

How do I solve this issue?

I apologize for the inconvenience you’re facing with the Microsoft Authenticator app. If you haven’t backed up the data from your old smartphone, unfortunately, it’s not possible to restore the accounts. However, here are some steps you can try:

Contact IT Support: If this is your work account, reach out to your company’s IT support. They might be able to reset your account or assist with recovery. If not, contact the support of the services you lost the mfa account of.

    Alternative Verification Methods:

Some websites offer alternative verification methods if you don’t have access to the Authenticator code. Check if you see an option like “I don’t have this option” or something similar. This might allow you to authenticate in a different way.

Remember to regularly back up your MFA account settings in the future to avoid such issues. I hope you regain access to your accounts soon!
