Server 2022 Backup Restoration Issue to Different Machine

I have a server running on ESXi host, the server is currently down and i would like to selective restore some of the data onto a different server to make available on the network. When i try to browse to the location where the backup is kept it returns an error on the server stating that there is no backups in this location although i can see that there is a virtual disk images in this location which the backup had created.

If there any way to access these backups from a different server or mount the virtual disks so that i can browse the data and extract what i need from the backup?

I originally done a bare metal backup but i don't want to install everything just extract the relevant data folders.

    1. Verify the location of the virtual disk images created by the backup process. These images may have a .vmdk extension and are typically stored in a datastore on the ESXi host.
    2. On the new server where you want to mount the disk images, ensure that you have access to the datastore where the virtual disk images are stored. You may need to connect to the ESXi host using VMware vSphere Client or other management tools to access the datastore.
    3. Once you have access to the datastore, you can attempt to mount the virtual disk images as additional disks on the new server.
    4. After successfully mounting the virtual disk images, you should be able to browse the contents of the disks and extract the relevant data folders as needed. Simply copy the required files or folders from the mounted disks to the desired location on the new server's filesystem.
