If the Windows font cache services won't start, it might be necessary to clear and rebuild the font cache. To do this, stop the Windows Font Cache Service and disable it. Then navigate to C:\Windows\ServiceProfiles\LocalService\AppData\Local
and delete all .dat
files starting with FontCache
. After deleting the files, set the Startup type to 'Automatic' and start it again.
If the issue persists, use the System File Checker tool to repair missing or corrupted system files. Open Command Prompt as an administrator and run these commands to scan your system for issues.
DISM.exe /Online /Cleanup-image /Restorehealth
sfc /scannow
