Enabling minimum apiVersion to 2021-08-01 in Azure API Management causing saving issues or deployment errors for existing logic apps

After having saved or enabled rather the minimum apiVersion for API Management to 2021-08-01, I cannot save my logic apps that have API management connectors within the logic app, which are making API calls to the APIM. The error given when dis:

The service is configured to allow management requests only with the following api-version values: 2021-08-01, 2021-12-01-preview, 2022-04-01-preview, 2022-08-01, 2022-09-01-preview, 2023-03-01-preview, 2023-05-01-preview, 2023-09-01-preview

This issue came about because Microsoft announced the retirement of API versions. Is there a way to fix this error within the logic app's ARM template or the logic app itself from the Azure portal?

@Admin Banuka Thanks for reaching out. The root cause of the issue lies in the discrepancy between the API versions used in the Logic Apps and the Connectors. Specifically, the connector initially uses the 2019-12-01 version to retrieve the services and API settings. However, when saving this configuration, a PUT request to save the configuration in the workflow made by the Logic Apps , uses an even older version, specifically 2016-12-01. This inconsistency leads to the minApiVersion error. Additionally, this explains why configuring settings to 2019-12-01 only partially resolved the issue. Current workaround is to disable the minApiVersion when using APIM with Logic Apps. This is because Logic Apps tend to use older API versions, which may cause issues when a minApiVersion is set in the APIM.

To disable the minApiVersion, you can utilize the following REST API to update APIM settings: Api Management Service - Update - REST API (Azure API Management) | Microsoft Learn Setting the following request body:

Implementing this setting to null should disable the minApiVersion and resolve the issue, as it will remove any restrictions on API versions between Logic Apps and APIM.

I will check further check on this with product team if it's possible to fix the issue without disabling the minApiVersion when using APIM with Logic Apps

Thank you for the update. Is logic app connector going to affect when Microsoft retires API Management service prior to 2021-08-01?

Hello SwathiDhanwada-MSFT,

I am trying to setup a logic app that calls APIM endpoint and when i tried to save i am getting the below error. Is there a way to get it working without rolling back the APIM min version ? We don't wanted to roll it back because, we got a notification from microsoft few months back asking us to update the min version on apim. Please let us know what we can do.
