I have failed over MS Exchange Mailbox Server in a VM and Edge server in another VM to another Azure region using Azure Site Recovery. When I tried to fail back to the initial region, Re-Protect operation failed with Error ID 539 and Error ID 151192.

  • Error ID 539
  • Error Message The requested action couldn't be performed by the Replication Provider.
  • Possible causes The Provider action failed. Check other errors for more information.
  • Recommendation Resolve the issue and retry the operation.
  • First Seen At 5/29/2024, 5:55:28 PM
  • Error ID 151192
  • Error Message Site recovery configuration failed.
  • Possible causes Connection cannot be established to Office 365 authentication and identity IP4 endpoints.
  • Recommendation Azure Site Recovery required access to Office 365 IPs ranges for authentication. If you are using Azure Network security group (NSG) rules/firewall proxy to control outbound network connectivity on the VM, ensure you allow communication to the prerequisite URLs or datacenter IP ranges. Refer to https://aka.ms/a2a-firewall-proxy-guidance.

    Hello Saravanan Subbaiah,

Welcome to microsoft Q&A,thankyou for posting your query here

Ensure that the ASR configuration is correct and consistent on both the primary and recovery sites.

Check if the storage account security configuration is configured correctly.

Verify that the NSG rules on the subnets where your VMs are located allow traffic to the Office 365 endpoints.

Add or modify outbound rules to permit traffic to the necessary Office 365 IP ranges.

If you are using a proxy, ensure it is correctly configured to allow traffic to Office 365 endpoints.

Check the proxy settings on the VMs to ensure they can reach the necessary URLs without being blocked or filtered.
