how to fix parser returned error 0x80004005 for microsoft .net machine.config

Question

When i run some apps, i encounter

Error Parsing c;\Windows\Microsoft.NET\Framework64\v4.0.30319\config\machine.config

Parser returned error 0x80004005

I replaced machine.config with machine.config.default.

I changed permissions to EVERYONE with full control.

I still get the error.

What do I do next?

Hi @Frank Tanski ，

You can try copying this config file from another computer that doesn't have this error.

Also consider repair/reinstall .NET Framework for this PC.
