I have done many low-level formats of the master boot record, installed OEM Windows 10 64-bits from Home to Professional to Enterprise, never had this problem before, started to occur around January 2024 and quite honestly it is bullsh*t that a company which makes millions a year cannot fix or make an update to stop this. I have tried all the info that most technicians send you too, which basically you are putting a bandaid on the problem till it doesn't stick no more and than again you get pissed off and just want to throw your PC out of the third floor balcony.

Can I change the value in the registry : Computer\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Ole

and modify the valued to "N" under EnabledDCOM ?????

What will be affected by it ???

Cause seriously, I have been running your software since Windows 3.1 and this is a first, your software has a problem for a lot of your customers, and yet, you cannot fix it ? or too many lazy people to compile a fix ?? I know it doesn't harm our computers, but, when you are in a World of Warcraft 20 man Mythic raid, or mythic plus key and your computer decides "well lets piss him off and give him a distributedDCOM error and crash his PC" NO THANKS ... I know I am not the first to ask this, but, "THERE IS A PROBLEM, MAKE A WINDOWS UPDATE AND FIX IT"

Thank you

a very pissed off customer

    Hello,

    From https://docs.microsoft.com/en-US/troubleshoot/windows-client/application-management/event-10016-logged-when-accessing-dcom, Microsoft says:

"These events can be safely ignored because they do not adversely affect functionality and are by design. This is the recommend action for these events."

If you still like to fix, refer this guide:

    https://www.kapilarya.com/fix-event-10016-error-the-application-specific-permission-settings-do-not-grant-local-activation-permission-in-windows-10

    Hope this helps!
