Microsoft Edge access Violation

Using Windows10 Version 10.0.19045 Build 19045

I used to be a Microsoft Gold Partner and have always been a hardcore supporter of your company. I stopped using Microsoft browsers for over five years, except in cases when using Internet Explorer was a prerequisite for using a software product.

About three months ago, I switched my browser to Edge on both my desktop and Android phone. The browser was working fine, but recently, it has become a nightmare to use. It keeps erroring out with access violations and out-of-memory issues.

Tonight, I had to stop using your Edge browser and switch back to Google Chrome just to be able to watch a YouTube video without encountering an access violation error. My son just stepped into my room, and when I told him about the problem, he asked, "Isn't Microsoft supposed to be a software company?"

This situation reminds me of a few years back when I switched my phone to a Windows Phone and was unable to display any fonts other than English, which forced me to abandon using Windows Phone and go back to using Android.

It is really frustrating to see that you are unable to produce a reliable product. I am disappointed that I cannot use the Edge browser. I thought you had already figured out the issues and had gained control over the quality of your software products.

I am writing this message, hoping that someone at Microsoft will hear me out and do something about the unreliability of the Edge browser.

First of all, thank you for your support for Microsoft. Based on your description, I can give you the following two suggestions. If the first solution doesn't work, you can try the second method.

1: Enter "edge://accessibility/" in the edge address bar and uncheck Web accessibility.

2. Find Edge and right-click to select properties, then replace the value of "Target" with: "C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft\Edge\Application\msedge.exe" --disable-renderer-accessibility, as shown in the following figure:

Hi @jinxin Wang

After few weeks of frustrating experience, I discovered that there were some corruptions of the file systems , which turned out to be the root cause behind my issues and had negatively impacted Edge browser functions. I ended up reinstalling and resetting the Window installation and now I have a stable environment and Edge browser is functioning well and as expected. I am very glad that I do not have to switch to Chrome, and using Edge as my default browser.
