Hyper-V replication combined with live migration an/or cluster

Is it possible that I can combine replication and live migration? When I try to move a server to another host, where the server is also replicated to, I get an error that there is already a virtual machine with the same name / id already on the host.

I had actually hoped to be able to run 2 hosts as Hyperconverged with Starwind VSAN and utilize the benefits of Cluster, while creating replication and getting the benefits of Recovery Points. But this look like this is also not possible? I got an error that you cannot replicate to a host that is part of a cluster...

    Hey,

    If you want to move the replicated VM to a replica host, you will need to perform planned migration. You can find detailed information here: https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/windows-server/virtualization/hyper-v/manage/set-up-hyper-v-replica

    As for StarWind VSAN and Windows Server, VSAN can be used as a shared storage for Failover Cluster. VSAN HA LUNs are replicated between the LUNs, while Failover Cluster will handle failover and Live Migration.     As for Recovery Points, you can use checkpoints with your HA VMs. https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/virtualization/hyper-v-on-windows/user-guide/checkpoints

    Hope you're doing well.

    Unfortunately, you cannot replicate to a host that is part of a cluster. Replication targets should be standalone hosts, not part of a cluster. If you want to utilize the benefits of both cluster and replication, consider separate hosts for these purposes.
