I am running MS SQL 2019 on Azure and using SSMS from my laptop. It was slow running SSMS from my laptop. Did i missed something to have a good speed running SSMS connecting to Azure SQL.? Appreciate that assistance.

As I understand, you are facing slowness issue in connecting to Azure SQL Database from SSMS.
Could you please share your DB configuration?
Please try to have latest SSMS if not already updated.
Alternatively, you could make use of Azure Data Studio to connect to Azure SQL Database.

Is it always slow, or is the first connection slow and the rest are quick? If your database is serverless, you need to account for that it takes time to load the database on to a server.
This is a bit of pain with serverless databases. But only a bit, when you take in account how much money you save with serverless.
